“2024 Inaugural Prince George’s County Jobs Not Guns Recruitment Fair”
The National Association of Minority Contractors—Washington, DC Metropolitan Chapter (NAMC-WMAC), the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and the Carpenters Contractor Trust with the support of At-Large Councilmember Calvin S. Hawkins, II is hosting the “2024 Inaugural Prince George’s County Jobs Not Guns Recruitment Fair” in Prince George’s County, MD on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters Training Center. The Fair featured employers, Federal and District agencies, job training, apprenticeship, vocational education programs and supportive service providers that will present guidance and assistance to residents as alternatives to gun violence to provide jobs for Prince George’s County residents.
The Fair featured guest speakers: Calvin Hawkins, II, At-Large Councilmember, Aisha Braveboy, State’s Attorney, Wala Blegay, District 6 Councilmember and Denise Roberts, Delegate, Legislative District 25 House of Delegates. 22 Exhibitors and ___ attendees participated. NAMC-WMAC and EAS are committed that working in partnership with the community can collectively build a strong workforce that is job-ready and will lead to a systematic decrease in the number of perpetrators and victims of gun violence in Prince George’s County.


In addition, NAMC-WMAC and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters and the Carpenter Contractor Trust are working together address building capacity of businesses and residents in the DMV.
- Co-hosted the first-of-its kind Jobs Not Guns Recruitment Fair in Prince George’s County on June 13, 2024.
- Coordinating with the Office of Congressman Glenn Ivy, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, and At-Large Councilmember Calvin Hawkins, to assist with expanding minority businesses and residents in economic development initiatives in Prince George’s County.
- Collaborating with the US General Services Administration to publicize and educate the DMV on the Project Labor Agreement requirements of the Department of Homeland Security.

NAMC-WMAC joined the EAS and CCT to produce the established a partnership as a member of NAMC-WMAC in February, 2024
